The Child is father of the Man
Clearly a child can never be the father of a man; this line is a paradox that has been introduced in the poem by Wordsworth to point out the fact, that the grown up adults have much to learn from their own past selves. Children are considered a gift of nature, they are pure both by heart and soul, as we grow older we learn to lie, cheat , steal, swear and many other things deemed wrong in the society, however a child never steals or lies or swears, It is always pure. As a child we learn many things some are bad and some are good, it is in childhood that our brain and personality is molded. Learning good and positive things during childhood can make us positive and good person in the future, a happy childhood filled with pleasant life giving positive spiritual influences -here symbolized by the pleasant associations linked to the beautiful rainbow - is the 'father' or the creator or the architect of a mature adult, the 'man.'
